It is an optional, platform-administered risk-sharing contribution that may offset documented costs of accidental damage to rented equipment. Complete terms govern.
1. What the Damage Waiver Covers
At checkout, Renters may optionally purchase a Damage Waiver ("Waiver") for a fee equal to ten percent (10%) of the Rental Fee only, rounded to the nearest dollar. The Waiver covers accidental physical damage to the rented equipment up to a maximum of CAD $750 per Booking, subject to the exclusions in Section 2.
2. What the Damage Waiver Does NOT Cover
The Waiver does not cover:
- Theft or non-return of equipment
- Intentional damage or vandalism
- Gross negligence
- Damage resulting from use of equipment outside its intended purpose or in violation of the AidersPlus Terms of Service
- Pre-existing damage documented in the pickup photo checklist
- Loss of or damage to third-party property or personal injury
3. How the Waiver Fee Is Calculated
The Waiver fee equals exactly ten percent (10%) of the Rental Fee, rounded to the nearest dollar. It does not apply to the CAD $8.00 Platform Service Fee or any other charge. HST at thirteen percent (13%) applies to the Waiver fee. The Waiver fee is shown as a separate line item at checkout before payment is confirmed.
4. How the Waiver Is Applied After a Confirmed Damage Claim
If a damage claim is confirmed through AidersPlus's dispute resolution process (see Section 9 of the Terms of Service), liability is applied in the following order:
- First: The Damage Waiver pool is applied to eligible accidental damage, up to the CAD $750 aggregate limit per Booking.
- Second: Any confirmed damage amount above the Waiver limit, or amounts for damage excluded from Waiver coverage, may be charged against the Renter's card-on-file Security Deposit.
- Third: Amounts exceeding both the Waiver limit and the applicable Deposit tier are a matter of personal liability between the Renter and Supplier directly.
AidersPlus reserves the right to modify Waiver terms, pricing, and coverage limits upon thirty (30) days' written notice.
5. Refundability of the Waiver Fee
The Waiver fee is non-refundable once a Booking is confirmed, except:
- Where the Renter cancels within the statutory twenty-four (24) hour cooling-off window described in the Cancellation and Refund Policy
- In Force Majeure events as described in the Cancellation and Refund Policy
