Before a Booking can be confirmed, the Renter must have completed formal identity verification through Stripe Identity, and the Supplier must have completed Stripe's identity verification and onboarding. Government-issued identification is collected and processed by Stripe, not by AidersPlus through email, messaging applications, or other manual channels. By clicking "Confirm Booking," both the Renter and Supplier agree to be bound by this Rental Agreement, the AidersPlus Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any applicable special conditions in the equipment listing. This Agreement is legally binding upon confirmation.

1. Parties
This Rental Agreement is between the Renter identified above and the Supplier identified above. AidersPlus Inc. ("AidersPlus") acts solely as the marketplace platform that facilitates this transaction. AidersPlus is not a party to the rental relationship, does not own the equipment, and is not responsible for its condition, performance, or fitness for any purpose.
2. Equipment Description and Condition
The Supplier warrants that the listing used for this Booking includes at least three (3) clear, recent photographs accurately showing the equipment's condition and that, at pickup, the equipment described in the Booking Summary will: (a) be in the condition described in the listing; (b) include all components listed; (c) be clean and in good working order; and (d) be safe for its intended use.
Any material discrepancy between the listed condition and the actual condition at pickup must be raised by the Renter before taking possession of the equipment. Proceeding with pickup without raising a discrepancy constitutes acceptance of the equipment as received, subject to the Photo Checklist record created at pickup.
3. Rental Period
The rental period begins at the agreed pickup time and ends at the agreed return time, both as specified in the Booking Summary. Time is of the essence with respect to the return of equipment.
If the Renter fails to return equipment by the agreed return time without prior written agreement from the Supplier, the Supplier may charge an extension fee at the daily listing rate, pro-rated by the hour, for each hour or part thereof that the equipment is overdue. The Renter expressly agrees that AidersPlus may apply such additional charges to the Renter's payment method on file.
4. Fees and Payment
4.1 Rental Fee
The Rental Fee is the amount set by the Supplier in their listing and shown in the Booking Summary. The Supplier receives the Rental Fee less the AidersPlus Supplier Commission of fifteen percent (15%) of the Rental Fee, deducted automatically before payout.
4.2 Platform Service Fee
AidersPlus charges the Renter a non-negotiable Platform Service Fee of CAD $8.00 per booking. This fee covers secure payment processing, identity verification, photo checklist management, deposit administration, and buyer protection services. The Platform Service Fee is collected at booking confirmation and is shown in the total price before payment is submitted.
The Platform Service Fee is separate from the Supplier Commission and is retained entirely by AidersPlus. It is not included in the Rental Fee used to calculate the fifteen percent (15%) Supplier Commission.
4.3 Damage Waiver (Optional)
The Renter may optionally purchase a Damage Waiver at checkout for a fee equal to ten percent (10%) of the Rental Fee only, rounded to the nearest dollar. The Damage Waiver is governed by the separate Damage Waiver Terms & Conditions set out in this document package. It is not insurance.
4.4 Total Amount and Disclosure
The total amount charged to the Renter at booking confirmation includes: (i) the Rental Fee; (ii) the CAD $8.00 Platform Service Fee; (iii) any optional Damage Waiver fee selected; and (iv) applicable HST. HST at thirteen percent (13%) applies to the Rental Fee, the Platform Service Fee, and the Damage Waiver fee (if purchased), as each constitutes a taxable supply of services. This total is displayed on the checkout page before the Renter confirms payment and constitutes the complete price disclosure required under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act 2002.

5. Security Deposit Authorization
By confirming this booking, the Renter expressly authorizes AidersPlus to charge the payment method provided at checkout for the Deposit amount specified in the Booking Summary, when: (a) damage to the rented equipment is confirmed through AidersPlus's dispute resolution process following return of the equipment; and (b) such damage is not fully covered by a purchased Damage Waiver.
The Deposit authorization amount is determined by the equipment risk tier:
Medium Risk (seating and table sets, projectors, lighting bundles, screens): CAD $300
High Risk (full audio bundles, photo booths): CAD $500
The card-on-file Deposit consent ends without a charge if: (i) the equipment is returned in acceptable condition with no damage claim raised; or (ii) no damage claim is raised within twenty-four (24) hours of equipment return. This consent does not create a hold, freeze, or charge on the Renter's account unless damage is confirmed.
Full details of the Deposit mechanism, charge process, and Renter dispute rights are set out in the Deposit Policy in this document package.
6. Equipment Pickup and Photo Checklist
Pickup must occur at the location and within the time window specified in the Booking Summary. If the Renter is unable to pick up at the agreed time, they must notify the Supplier and AidersPlus at least two (2) hours in advance.
Both the Renter and Supplier are required to complete the AidersPlus Photo Checklist at the time of pickup, documenting the condition of every item in the rental. The Checklist link is provided in the booking confirmation email. Timestamped photographs submitted through the Checklist constitute the primary evidentiary record for any subsequent damage dispute.
Failure by the Renter to complete the pickup Checklist constitutes acceptance of the equipment in the condition documented by the Supplier.
7. Renter's Obligations During the Rental
- Use the equipment only for its intended, lawful purpose at private or permitted events
- Store and transport equipment with reasonable care, using appropriate packaging or protective measures
- Not permit any person other than the Renter or those directly supervised by the Renter to operate the equipment
- Not sublease, lend, or transfer the equipment to any third party
- Not modify, disassemble, or alter the equipment in any way
- Not remove, obscure, or alter serial numbers, asset tags, or ownership markings
- Comply with all applicable laws, permits, and venue regulations governing the use of the equipment
- Contact the Supplier immediately if equipment malfunctions or is damaged during the rental
8. Return Obligations
The Renter must return all equipment at the agreed return time and location in the same condition as received, normal wear and tear excepted. All components listed in the Booking Summary must be returned.
Both the Renter and Supplier must complete the return Photo Checklist at the time of return. Once the Supplier confirms return in satisfactory condition through the Platform, the card-on-file Deposit consent ends and no charge is made.
If the Renter fails to return equipment within two (2) hours of the agreed return time without prior arrangement, the Supplier may report the non-return to AidersPlus. AidersPlus may charge the Renter's payment method for overdue fees and, in cases of prolonged non-return, may escalate to law enforcement on the Supplier's behalf.
9. Damage, Loss, and Liability
The Renter is liable for any damage to or loss of the rented equipment arising during the rental period, beyond normal wear and tear, as documented through the Photo Checklist process.
The Renter's liability is addressed in the following order:
First: The Damage Waiver (if purchased) covers accidental damage up to CAD $750
Second: The Security Deposit (card on file) may be charged for remaining amounts
Third: Any costs exceeding both the Waiver limit and Deposit amount remain the personal liability of the Renter
Intentional damage, theft, non-return, and gross negligence are not covered by the Damage Waiver and may result in full Deposit capture, civil proceedings, and/or referral to law enforcement.
10. Cancellation
Cancellations are governed by the AidersPlus Cancellation and Refund Policy set out in this document package. For Renter-initiated cancellations, the CAD $8.00 Platform Service Fee is non-refundable except in Force Majeure or where the Renter cancels within the statutory cooling-off window described in that Policy. If the Supplier cancels, the Platform Service Fee is fully refunded.
11. Supplier Warranties and Responsibilities
The Supplier represents, warrants, and agrees that:
- They own the equipment or have the lawful right to rent it
- The equipment is not subject to any lien, security interest, or encumbrance that restricts rental
- The listing accurately describes the equipment and its condition
- The equipment is safe, in working order, and compliant with applicable safety standards
- They will be available within the stated pickup window and will respond to Renter communications promptly
- They have and will maintain any business licences or permits required for commercial equipment rental activity
12. AidersPlus's Role and Limitation of Liability
AidersPlus provides the technology platform that enables this transaction. AidersPlus does not own, inspect, or warranty any equipment. AidersPlus's maximum liability to any party arising out of this Rental Agreement is limited as described in the AidersPlus Terms of Service.
The Renter and Supplier agree that AidersPlus's dispute determinations are made in good faith based on available evidence but do not constitute legal adjudication and do not affect either party's right to seek remedies through the courts of Ontario.
13. Governing Law
This Rental Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.
