No hold, freeze, pending transaction or charge is made to the Renter's payment method at booking.

The Deposit tier shown at checkout is consent for possible later recovery if damage is confirmed—nothing more.

1. How the Card-on-File Deposit Works

AidersPlus uses a card-on-file deposit model. At Booking confirmation, the Renter's payment method is securely saved by Stripe. The Renter provides explicit consent at checkout for AidersPlus to charge the stored card only if damage is confirmed following the return inspection and dispute process under Section 9 of the Terms of Service. This consent is captured through click-wrap acceptance and logged with a timestamp. AidersPlus does not store card numbers. All payment details are encrypted and tokenized by Stripe in compliance with PCI DSS standards.

2. Deposit Tiers by Equipment Risk

The applicable deposit tier is determined by the equipment risk category assigned by AidersPlus at listing approval and is displayed to the Renter before booking confirmation.

Low Risk — Premium Decor Card-on-file consent amount: CAD $150
Medium Risk — Seating and Table Sets, Lighting Packages, Projector Kits Card-on-file consent amount: CAD $300
High Risk — Audio Bundles, Photo Booths Card-on-file consent amount: CAD $500

AidersPlus reserves the right to reassign a listing's risk tier at any time.

3. What the Deposit Does NOT Do at Booking

  • No authorization hold is placed on the Renter's payment method
  • No funds are transferred or frozen
  • The Renter's available credit or bank balance is not affected
  • No pending transaction appears on any statement
  • No charge is made to the stored card unless damage is confirmed through the dispute process

4. When a Deposit Charge May Be Made

If a Supplier files a damage claim within twenty-four (24) hours of equipment return and the claim is confirmed through AidersPlus's dispute process:

  • If the Renter did not purchase a Damage Waiver, the confirmed damage amount (up to the applicable tier ceiling) may be charged to the stored card.
  • If the Renter purchased a Damage Waiver and the damage exceeds the CAD $750 Waiver limit or falls outside Waiver coverage, the remaining amount (up to the applicable tier) may be charged to the stored card.

The card-on-file Deposit consent ends with no charge if no damage claim is raised within twenty-four (24) hours of equipment return, or if the equipment is confirmed returned in acceptable condition.

5. Notification and Charge Process

AidersPlus will notify the Renter before any Deposit charge is processed. The Renter is provided the opportunity to respond as part of the dispute process described in Section 9 of the Terms of Service. If an appeal reverses or reduces a charged amount, AidersPlus will refund the applicable amount to the Renter's original payment method.
